Even experts read the manuals. Our tech support staff has most of the books that are out on a wide variety of web topics. Here are some of their top picks. We think you'll find them useful and informative as well.

Using the PostgreSQL Database

PostgreSQL is a transaction-capable database that can be accessed via JDBC using the PostgreSQL driver in the default Tomcat classpath. Full documentation for PostgreSQL is available on the PostgreSQL website.

The PostgreSQL driver class name is "org.postgresql.Driver".

If you need to download the driver JAR file for development purposes, we have a prepackaged copy of it for you to download here. (Netscape users -- right-click and choose "Save as...").

org.postgresql JDBC driver package (188k)

The JDBC URL for accessing PostgreSQL database is "jdbc:postgresql://yourdomain.com:5432/username".

Some code examples on how to use the driver will be provided here shortly.
